Course Outline - This course has 6 modules that contain recorded lectures, PowerPoint slides, practice quizzes, and activities to further enhance your learning. This course also includes additional documents to further develop your professional writing skills.
Description - The course allows you to focus on professional writing skills, including audience awareness, purpose, style, formats, and organization.
Objectives – As a result of this course participants should have an understanding of the meaning, function, and purpose of the following:
- How audience and purpose impact the format and style of writing
- How to write clear, concise, and grammatically correct sentences
- How to correctly format letters, memos, and e-mails
- How to organize professional documents
- How to apply basic design principles
Instructor - Mrs. Laufenberg has been teaching for ten years. Over the course of that time, she has taught remedial English, composition and rhetoric, professional writing, technical writing, women's literature, and American literature. She earned her Master's degree in English from Louisiana Tech University. She has taught at both the university and community college level. In between that time, she worked as a school psychologist. Mrs. Laufenberg believes writing is an essential skill to be mastered because good written communication skills are required in every career.
