Description - This course is designed to help participants pass CompTIA’s Security+ SY0-401 exam.  The Security+ course provides participants with a foundation in network security fundamentals. The course focuses on how to develop effective security strategies, including basic principles of encryption.  Participants will learn about system security, network infrastructure, access control, assessments & audits, cryptography, and organizational security.

Voucher - A CompTIA voucher is NOT included in this course but participants will receive a coupon for lower academic rates.

– As a result of this course participants should have an understanding of the meaning, function, and purpose of the following: 
  • Recognize the basics of system security;
  • Identify network infrastructure;
  • Recognize the fundamentals of access control;
  • Conduct assessments and audits of systems;
  • Implement basic cryptography skills; and
  • Implement basic organizational security skills.
Instructor - Chris Rondeau the director of the Security Program for Bossier Parish Community College.  Mr. Rondeau has a Masters in Educational Technology from Northwestern State University and is certified in CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, and Project+ also holds all six CNSS certifications.  Mr. Rondeau has earned an Adobe Certified Associates.  Most recently he has working on forensics training and has received his ACE certification from Access Data.
